You're a bit of a cynic when it comes to love.
You don't lose your head, and hardly anyone penetrates your heart.
Your ideal Valentine's Day date: is all about the person you're seeing (with no mentions of v-day!)
People's selfishness amazes me. Anyone have insight as to why? If so, please post your infinite wisdom.

and now i'm off to be thoroughly disgusted with my fellow mankind...ttfn.

2 days til i'm home...

Ok, it's been a while, too much to write, too much to process, going to probably need a lot of alone/quiet time when i get back home to sort through it all. Here's the fun fact of the moment: My ticket agent in the US couldn't get me a flight home from Tanzania and so had to get me a flight through Nairobi home, only thing is that she misled me to believe it was a short bus ride to the Nairobi airport from Moshi when in actuality it will take 8 hours. while this wouldn't normally be a problem, i'd rather not considering i'm just getting over malaria (no worries, not a big deal at all here, esp. b/c i'm on a profalxis [totally spelled that wrong] and i'm better, but still wary of a long car ride) and so by the time I went to the ticket agency here in Moshi, all the puddle-jumper flights to Nairobi from Kili were completely booked, so looks like i'm taking an 8 hour bus ride. oh well, it'll be an adventure. just hope i don't have to pee, that'd be quite the predicament. customs should be an interesting experience too. we'll see what happens. wish me luck and see you all very soon!

Woah, how wild is this, updating twice in a matter of days! I'm so cool, not really, i'm exhausted, but in the best kind of way. I had the most amazing morning at my volunteer placement. Mama Joesph is absolutely amazing, and I have one of the most humbling conversations with her during which she asked me to explain to her what the internet is and I feabily tried to do my best. I told her that I will show her how to use the internet and even set up an e-mail account for her this week, I'm very excited. I feel that she is a genuine woman and truly earnest in her desire to learn and capture the opportunity to do so while I am here. I dare say that for the first time since I've been here that I truly feel fulfilled.

In related news, I had a big meeting with the big mamas today as well: Mama Mshana, Moindry, Msaki, and Mushi. It was a powerhouse of women and I held my own and told them (as straight as can be told in Tanzania - more on that later) that I was essentially contributing nothing , big thanks to Mama Thea Mushi for her help in conveying that message in the nicest way possible. So now I will be working on two separate projects because the whole Fair Trade biz-natch is stalled while i wait for Ten Thousand Villages or World of Good to get back to me about the process that I need to initiate here. My two projects will be: 1. developing a portfolio of TAHEA's activities and accomplishments 2. helping write proposals to get funds from donors, but that i'm sure will not be accomplished because everything here is pole pole (slow)

More to say, interesting occurences that only Anjali could ever do to herself, many of you will laugh really hard when you here about it. no time now, just sit and wait in suspense...
